Backed By The Science You Trust

Therapists play a critical role in supporting the social emotional development of children, but their impact can be limited by the relatively short duration of in-person sessions. Junga builds upon evidence-based advice[2] to deliver a foundational tool to support well-established social emotional skills[3] such as self-awareness and self-management.

  • Encourage Confidence & Self-Esteem

Achieving goals and the recognition that comes with it (points and rewards) helps children build confidence and self-esteem through a sense of accomplishment.[6]

  • Support Emotional Regulation

Clear, steady expectations give children practice in labeling, coping with, and modifying emotions - "Excellent work calming down after getting upset. You've earned a point for composure!" [5]

  • Introduce Routines

Creating routines helps children feel secure and reduces stress by providing predictable structure[4]

Improve compliance with at home practice

Your clients are busy. Meet them where they are with tools to encourage compliance at-home in a positive, growth-focused way. Junga provides an available, consistent platform for logging their at-home practice, providing you with clear insights into their progress and areas that may need extra attention.

  • Speech therapy practice
  • Eye patching compliance
  • Occupational or physical therapy logging
  • Incontinence tracking
  • Medication adherence
  • Dietary tracking
  • Episode logging
  • Reading practice

Dive in and see how it works!

Junga complements a wide range of structured therapy programs, including mental health counseling, social-emotional learning (SEL), and physical or occupational therapy.

Junga is designed to be flexible and adaptable to fit the various approaches of behavioral methods such as The Kazdin Method® and other well-established, research-backed Social Emotional programs. We provide tools to help you implement the program and track progress to encourage growth in key areas for positive child development.

Catalog & Activity Center

Catalogs are collections of tasks and rewards designed by you. Leverage our core catalogs, create your own from scratch, or install catalogs shared by other community members. Each of your Jungas can share a catalog, have a dedicated catalog, or a mixture of both. The Activity Center can be accessed from any device and is synced in real-time.

Tasks

Each task is given a point value and you determine the criteria that qualify the task as completed. You can customize tasks with our icon set, an emoji, or your own image. Tasks can even have specific days of the week or times of the day (such as trash day on Tuesdays) to encourage routine-building. Timers can be set for tasks and opened from any device to allow seamless transitions between Keepers.

Rewards

A reward is the incentive you provide for completing tasks. Each reward has a point value and unlocks automatically once the Junga's point balance reaches the required amount. You can set quantity limits (such as one per day) and time boundaries on when rewards can be redeemed (eg: no treats after 3PM).

Experience Tracking

Track emotional experiences to gain insights into what activities and interactions are most impactful for your child's growth. Use this information to adjust your approach and provide extra support in areas that need it. Learning patterns in emotional experiences can also help you identify early warning signs of potential challenges and intervene proactively to provide support.

Visual Timers

Research has shown that visual timers help children better understand the passage of time and can eliminate the question of "how much longer", which has been shown to reduce "when will it end" anxiety [7], and positively impact behavior[8]. The use of timers introduces time management skills and time-bound events such as sharing, brushing teeth, length of game play, and others typically proceed more smoothly when a timer is involved. It really is simple: less surprises equals fewer breakdowns.

Points Freeze

A points freeze is a temporary hold on a Junga's ability to redeem points as a consequence for behavior that fell outside expectations. During this time, Jungas can continue earning points by completing tasks but will not be able to redeem points for rewards. This freeze will expire automatically after the duration set by the Keeper. A points freeze can be an effective way to encourage reflection and discussion about behavior without taking away the opportunity for growth through earning points.
